Nukaroo

Something has gone terribly wrong in the Aussie outback

Genre / Splatter
Language / Norwegian / English

From 1952 to 1992 the United Kingdom tested over 30 nuclear devices in Australian territory. Until today the after-effects of the radiation have never been catalogued nor completely understood.

LISA GLAD, drags her entire family including her terminally ill mother, from Norway to the Australian outback in a desperate attempt to find the rumoured location of the “Fountain of Youth”. What they discover is a twisted bizarre experiment from decades of trial and terror at the hands of former nuclear Nazi scientist; the surprisingly young looking Dr. GUTTMUND SCHWEIZER. When Lisa’s witless brother HARALD and his mindless girlfriend KAROLINE sneak into the Dr.’s lab to find an exciting spot to fornicate, they accidentally release the by-product of the mad scientist's crazy experiments: nuclear Kangaroos - NUKAROOS!

Mutated, mutilated two-headed Nukaroos with an endless appetite for total destruction quickly decapitate Harald and slice and dice Karoline to bits. With bloodthirsty beasts popping up in every nook and cranny, Lisa and her family make a hasty retreat to the outback town of Coober Pedy. Their only hope lies in convincing the local Rugby Sports Club (RSC) to take the final stand with the family Glad. The rugby team suits up and together with the townsfolk stand face to beast in front of an endless row of Nukaroos; if they lose the Nukaroos will infinitely multiply and wipe out the entire country!

‘Nukaroo’ is an epic battle between man, science and freaks of nature that will teach Lise to accept life, and its ultimate outcome. Death.

May the best beast win…

Transparency

The business of giving is taking

Genre / Political Comedy
Language / Norwegian, English, Kurdish

In the vein of "Wag the Dog" and "Thank you for Smoking" comes Transparency, a political comedy about natural tragedies and man-made disasters. Over 25 years ago Lars Larsen co-organised Live Aid with his then partner Steffen Gunderson. While Steffen has achieved vast success and acclaim by raising massive funds for foreign aid, Lars and his one man NGO took a nose-dive into oblivion and never recovered. Lars now needs to raise enough money so that his NGO can climb above the threshold and become eligible to receive Norwegian government foreign aid funds: aka "the big prize".

Opportunity knocks when disaster strikes Pakistan and Lars' connections in the Oslo Grønland Ghetto finally gives him a leg up over his now rival Steffen Gunderson. Energised by this life line, Lars goes to any means necessary to raise money; he prays at local mosques, begs Kurdish green grocers, and woos little old ladies. He raises the aid, pays his rent, and gets to Pakistan. His efforts in Pakistan are a comedy of errors including losing his supplies, crossing a crazed CIA agent and bribing the wrong official. When Lars finally gets the supplies to those in need by stealing a helicopter from the ISI (Pakistani Secret Service), naturally, Steffen is there with his own news crew taking all the credit.

Broke and defeated Lars drowns his sorrows in whiskey bars as Steffen's company ProAID floods the media with television ads, bill boards and photo ops with the Norwegian prime minister. On a particularly wet night at the bar, Lars bumps into Stan, ProAID's bitter former accountant, who reveals to Lars that all is not as it seems with Steffen's financing. Armed with evidence Lars decides to take down Steffen and reveal the true story behind the aid industry.
